GBBFF sets December 18 for Senior Bodybuilding Championships

THE Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (GBBFF) yesterday set December 18 as the date for its Senior Championships.
The event, which is billed for the National Cultural Centre, will either be virtual or via a controlled audience.

Information from the president of the GBBFF, Keavon Bess, indicated that contestants will compete in three categories, Bodybuilding (to crown Mr Guyana champion), Bikini and Men’s Physique.

Rosanna Fung is the defending Ms Bikini senior champion.

“The said competition is to celebrate life, health and fitness whilst promoting healthy lifestyle and healthy living.”

It is anticipated that approximately 30 athletes will take the stage for the top local bodybuilding competition.
Bess said that an official list of athletes will be available in the first week of November.

DEPENDENT ON TASK FORCE
Although the event is in its planning stages, hosting will still depend on the COVID-19 Task Force.

“Once the hosting of our competition is approved by the COVID-19 Task Force, athletes, backstage personnel and the executive of the GBBFF will undertake to observe all COVID-19 protocols as gazetted by the Ministry of Health.

While on stage, athletes will be required to stand six feet from each other while backstage athletes will be required to wear their masks and to maintain the mandatory physical distanc as welle.

Judges will be seated six feet apart and will be required to wear their masks.”
