Galaxy CC claimed an emphatic 10-wicket victory in the championship clash.

LEFT-ARM spinners Hemendra Ramdihal and Gudakesh Motie spun a full-strength Galaxy Cricket Club (GCC) to an emphatic 10-wicket victory, when the final of the Caribbean Fest 40-over tournament was played last Sunday at Baisley Pond.

National cricketer Motie and his Berbician counterpart Ramdihal did the damage after Meten-Meer-Zorg won the toss and opted to take first strike.

Ramdihal, who opened the bowling, destroyed the top order with his stifling deliveries, before Motie did damage to the middle order.
Ramdihal finished with 4-23 from eight overs, while Motie took 3-21 from seven overs to go with a run-out and a catch.

Support came from former West Indies Test spinner Devendra Bishoo, who picked up 2-10 from 5.2 overs. Jonathan Foo was also very economical since only one run came off his two overs.

Mohamed Shaw with 18, Andy Mohammed (12) and Looknauth Chinkoo (11) were the only batters in double figures, which left fellow pro-Guyanese side Meten-Meer-Zorg on 79 before they were bowled out in 28.2 overs.

Needing to score at just two runs per over, the GCC’s opening pair of Mushin Perkhan and former West Indies youth cricketer Zamal Khan wasted no time to reach 81 in 12 overs.

Perkhan finished with 40 runs (5×4, 1×6) from 43 balls, while Khan added 37 runs (4×4, 1×6) from 29 balls.
