A 31-year-old plumber is expected to be charged for drug possession following a raid at his Prince William Street, Plaisance, East Coast Demerara home.

According to a press release from the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), on Monday, September 27, ranks conducted a raid at the home of Rodwell Taylor.

The ranks reportedly saw Taylor with a black bulky plastic bag in his hands, while he was standing in front of the two-storey building

Upon seeing the officers entering the yard, Taylor allegedly ran into the lower flat, causing the officers to give chase.

He exited the lower flat through the back door, leaving a trail of ziplock bags containing cannabis, before throwing a black plastic bag over a concrete fence.

Taylor was arrested, and the black plastic bag was retrieved. It contained small ziplock bags filled with cannabis weighing a total of 200 grams.

He was arrested and escorted to CANU Headquarters. He is presently in custody pending charges.
