Nathan DeNobrega and Elwyn Levius were undefeated yesterday against their Barbadian counterparts at the COTECC/ITF U-12 Tennis tournament for Latin American and Caribbean countries.
The tournament is being held in the Dominican Republic.
DeNobrega, playing against Dimitri Kirton, won 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in a match that lasted well over two hours.
Meanwhile, Levius made light work of Ethan Warner in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).
Over in the doubles action, the pair made a clean sweep against Barbados, winning 6-4, 6-2.
The Guyanese players will next face the USVI, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
The pair is being coached by renowned tennis coach, Shelly Daly-Ramdyhan.
According to information received, the team arrived on the Spanish-speaking Island close to midnight on Saturday after an over five-hours delay from Guyana.
The tournament will conclude on October 2.
