BCB supports COVID-19 Task Force regulations

BERBICE Cricket Board (BCB) president Hilbert Foster held a discussion with Colonel Nazrul Hussain MSM, Director of the National Task Force, leading to the decision to further update its COVID-19 mandates.

The president sought advice if clubs can still conduct practice sessions and we are pleased to inform you of the following.

Firstly, practice sessions will now be held with club members only, with no spectators allowed.

Practice sessions should be held on separate days for junior and senior players, to cut down on all 65 members being present at the same time.

On the third note, Social distancing, face mask and sanitising of hands, along with other COVID-19 guidelines, should be in effect.

The fourth guideline is directed towards inter-club matches where no such activities should be organised as per the written instruction.

Meanwhile, the Task Force is set to review the suspension of the cricket season when the COVID-19 situation improves in the country. All sports are affected by this decision.
