CLIDE Rodrigues was, on Tuesday, arraigned before Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Mahdia Magistrate’s Court on charges related to an accident that occurred at 7 Miles, Mahdia Public Road, which claimed the life of Ezra Henrico.

Rodriques was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, being an unlicensed driver, driving an uninsured motor vehicle, driving an unlicensed motor vehicle and driving an uncertified motor vehicle. All of the offences were allegedly committed on August 11 at 7 Miles.

He pleaded not guilty to the causing death charge and guilty to the others.

As a result, he was granted $200,000 bail on the causing death charge and fined a total of $115,000, for the other charges.

He will return to court on October 13 for trial.
