(CMC) THREE weeks after being hit in his head with a projectile during a protest in Kingstown in St Vincent and the Grenadines, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves says the injury to his head has healed.
Speaking during a radio programme on Star Morning Scoop on Thursday, Gonsalves said when he passes his hand over the part of his head that was injured, he can still feel the rough edges but for all practical purposes it has healed.
He also indicated that his hair is growing back in the spot which had to be shaved to deal with the injury.
“Things are coming back okay,” said the prime minister.
Despite this, Gonsalves said he still has to monitor his health over the next few weeks as told to him by the neurologist.
He said when one gets a blow to their head it’s not just the visible injury itself but what you don’t see, which could affect a number of things.
The prime minister added that the neurologist took him through things that he should look out for and he has been making more acute observations.
On August 5, Gonsalves, 75, was hit with a projectile in his head during a protest in Kingstown. He suffered a concussion due to the incident.
