AN abusive father of three lost his life Sunday after the knife he used to attack the mother of his children was responsible for his own demise at her parents’ residence at Providence, East Bank Demerara.

Dead is Anthony Pakanram called “Max”. Police said that the 28-year-old woman and the father of her three children were in a common-law relationship and he had a history of violence towards her.

On Saturday, the police report stated that the woman and Max had a misunderstanding which caused him to physically assault her. Consequently, she subsequently moved out of their shared home to go live at her parents’ home at Old Road, Providence.

On Sunday around 15:30hrs, Max reportedly visited the house and an argument ensued; he became angry and armed himself with a knife and despite the woman’s attempt to flee, Max cornered her and a scuffle ensued.

During the scuffle, the suspect said she heard “Max” groan and saw him bleeding from the neck; as they parted, he walked a short distance and collapsed.

He was rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre by family members, but died while receiving medical care.

The body is presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting an autopsy. The woman was taken into police custody pending investigations.
