Featuring the very best of Guyanese artistes, the fifth volume of ‘592’ has now been officially released and is ready to be played on radios and stereos throughout Guyana and all across the world.

Curated by producer Shawn McAllister, the album seeks to create a vibrant platform for talented Guyanese artistes to not only showcase and preserve their work, but to also collaborate and grow.

592 volume five is out now

McAllister told the Buzz that the fifth and newest entry to the ‘592’ album is especially notable since it provides the space for an increased number of female singers to be included. This is a major step-up from the album’s second volume which only featured one female.

In this new and exciting 592 volume five, a total of five female artistes are prominently featured. As a result, McAllister has earned our kudos for his effort to promote gender equality.

He explained that his mission to produce the ‘all local’ ensemble was inspired by the notable need for Guyanese to promote their own, especially across the music industry. McAllister said that album was created as a means of not only promoting authentic and captivating Guyanese talents, but to also generate linkages and foster strategic connections with key influencers outside of Guyana, who can help propel Guyanese music to the next level.

“I’m not focused on doing any sort of show until I’m comfortable with the progress of what this project is really about,” McAllister told the Buzz.

He said that goal is to keep promoting Guyanese music, uncovering hidden talents, and more importantly, designing a safe and nurturing environment where local artistes can perfect their craft, especially as it relates to the art of songwriting.

“Every time I do this album, I’m discovering more amazing talent and the crazy part about it, is that they have been there all this time waiting to be heard,” McAllister related.

He believes within the next two to five years the continued promotion of Guyanese artiste through the ‘592’ franchise will see better opportunities for Guyanese artiste; however, McAllister is hoping to get the support of the radio and television producers, disc jockeys and presenters.

“I’m also hoping for the support of the radio stations to not only play more of the music but to have it structured in a way where the audience would be more connected instead of playing a song and not giving direction on how to find the artiste,” McAllister posited.

Currently, all five volumes of the 592 albums can be steamed for FREE on audiomack.com. We encourage you to check these out and spread the word! We can only grow if we lift each other up.
