Writing is therapeutic

THE month of June got even better! To say I am grateful is an understatement. How can we be so lucky to have great synergies and great energy in all three of the Virtual Writers Retreats? I said to my co-founder Claudia Vidal that blessed may be a better word. We had another amazing group of people from around the world who are thrilled to share their stories and write a few books. Finding my writing voice was one of the best things that have happened to me in recent years. Rediscovering the beauty of language and storytelling has added so much value to my life. Writing has given me so much freedom and I write read now more than I did five years ago. I am presently reading Never Split the Difference by Chris Voss and Know What You’re For  by Jeff Henderson and a foreword by DrJohn Maxwell.

I woke up at 2am a few days ago and prayed for a few minutes on my computer to add some content to my new book. I constantly remember that euphoric feeling from holding my first book and that is why I am so passionate about assisting people who are desirous of publishing their books. I have worked with a few in the last year and presently working with Beverley Benn,( 1st Retreat and her cover below) Anandy Gitten (2nd Retreat), and Sara Khalil from the just concluded retreat. She is boiling over with excitement to share her compelling stories that will assist many women on their journeys. Her enthusiasm is contagious and her energy inspires me and I am sure it will do the same to her readers. Reading the message Sara sent after the retreat made me realise that the content impacted lives beyond writing and storytelling.

“Sometimes one bad thing can ruin our mood or happiness and we forgot about all that joy we had. Often when we have that one thing that goes wrong, we completely focus on that bad thing and forget about all the good things that happened. I think because of our unfortunate habit of remembering the pain and forgetting joy so easily. So, like today, all day was great, but suddenly came home to a sick kid bill from the Department of labour including my ex just take me into a sad phase but I had to remember myself, but I had a moment before I could’ve brought myself back. But sometimes no matter how small that thing is. It just takes over our minds. So we would often let that take over our mind, we focus on the pain and forget the joy. I had to bring myself to focus on the joy and not the pain. We have to just do that to snap out of it quickly.

I feel living life in that way, we will feel so much better in life. We will stay happy and joyful. I will let us go thru life better state of flow. Rather been stopped by the hurdles. They’re always going to be things that happen. But we have to learn to embrace the pain and learn to take it as it comes, but not let it consume us. Don’t let any small or bad thing play on your mind for too long. After the retreat last week I learned more about life and experienced just by listening to others pain and experience they shared and how we all have stories we are the author of our life. Meeting and listening to Richard that’s where I Learnt that even a simple or small act is a story and how each day we can have a story, but only if we can recognise it and how important also it is to have a daily diary and pay attention to everything in life and create something out of what we might think it’s nothing. Claudia said if you write a story where we were mean to a friend, instead of the friend mean to us. I also learned at the retreat how our flaws create more attention sometimes than our best assets. I had the opportunity to meet some amazing, strong women whom I connected with. I will gladly recommend the next retreat in September, because it is worth much more than the price.”
We are days away from completing the first half of the year and I am intentional about ending it strong and I am sure many have the same plan. I decided to make my courses available at a special price. I will go a step further and give a complimentary course for each course purchased.

We have had amazing results from all the courses
“The Confidence Becomes programme has helped me tremendously from the simple function of introducing myself properly to the major discovery of realising my true purpose” Akisha Henry,St Vincent.
“Being a part of this wonderful seven days of healthy thoughts challenge has really helped me on my journey of becoming more focused and confident in myself. I was procrastinating about a lot of the goals that I had started, but never found the strength to continue because of those negative branches.” Alesia Amanda, French Guiana

“Developing the Best You course… What a gift and what compelling message! I highly recommend this course to anyone regardless of their walk of life, who wants to see positive changes in their lives.”  Maria Teresa Rosa, Florida.
