THE Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) on Thursday arrested Aatwanna Natoya McCammon, 20, of ‘C’ Field, Sophia, Greater Georgetown after finding 1.174kg of marijuana in her possession. CANU said that the ‘bust’ was made when its ranks intercepted a minibus en route to Georgetown on the Anns Grove Public Road, East Coast Demerara.
The woman, who was a passenger in the front seat of the minibus, had in her possession a shopping bag which contained the illegal substance.
The suspect was told of the offence she’d committed, arrested, cautioned and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters. When weighed, the marijuana amounted to 1.174kg. Investigations are ongoing.
