GCCI gives $1M towards flood relief efforts

THE Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) on Friday presented a cheque of $1M to aid the national flood relief efforts being undertaken by the Civil Defence Commission (CDC). According to a release, GCCI President, Timothy Tucker presented the cheque to Lt. Col. Kester Craig, Director-General of the CDC during a simple handing over ceremony at the CDC Headquarters. The donation represents the continuation of a series of engagements that the GCCI has been having with the CDC. The GCCI, through its membership, continues to facilitate donations that will aid the CDC’s efforts in communities affected by flooding across the country.
“The GCCI is pleased to be able to contribute further to the laudable efforts of the CDC, and strongly encourages the business community to continue its support of ongoing flood relief exercises,” the release concluded.
