AS flood-relief efforts by government and the private sector continue, Vitality Accounting and Consultancy Inc., on Monday last, chipped in to donate a quantity of food hampers worth over $500,000, to the flood-affected residents of Branch Road, Mahaicony.

Hampers were distributed to villages along the Mahaicony riverine area including New Providence, Mortice, Wash Clothes, Esau and Jacob, all of which have been inundated over the last two weeks due to the recent heavy rainfall and subsequent overflowing of waters from the backlands in the locality.

“Vitality Inc. is extremely concerned about the many families, businesses, and communities which have been intensely impacted over the past few days. As such, it has decided to render this form of much needed assistance,” a press release from Vitality Accounting and Consultancy Inc. noted.

The generous donation was handed over by Vitality Inc’s representative, President of Golden Om Dharmic, Pandit Deodat Persaud, who thanked the residents for their resilience and bravery, demonstrated in such difficult times.

Persaud conveyed the empathy and hurt expressed by the Board of Directors’ of Vitality Inc. upon learning of the devastating impact of these floods across Guyana and advised residents to continue to demonstrate the spirit of benevolence and not to yield to any form of frustration in such trying times.

Residents were assured of the company’s continued assistance throughout, and the press release noted that Vitality Inc. remains committed as a good corporate citizen to assist Guyanese in the rebuilding process.
