TWO teenagers are in police custody after they were found with an illegal firearm with ammunition, along with a stolen motorcycle in South Ruimveldt, Georgetown on Monday.
Reports indicate that at around 16:30hrs on Monday, ranks on a ‘motorbike’ patrol observed the two teens on a motorcycle in Tucville, Georgetown.
As the patrol team proceeded to stop them, they began to drive south on Tucville Turning Point, and proceeded south into High Palm Drive, South Ruimveldt Gardens, Georgetown.
The ranks gave chase, and the two males were intercepted on High Palm Drive.
A search conducted on the 18-year-old rider, whose name and particulars were provided, unearthed a .38 Taurus revolver containing four matching rounds of ammunition in his pants crotch.

Another carried out on the 16-year-old pillion rider, whose particulars were also provided, yielded nothing evidential. The suspect was told of the offence he’d committed and cautioned, but opted to remain silent. Both lads were arrested and taken to the East La Penitence Police Station, where the suspected firearm and ammunition were marked, sealed, and lodged.
The motorcycle is also lodged at the East La Penitence Station.
Further investigations revealed that the owner of the motorcycle the boys were moving around on was relieved of it at gunpoint on May 5, 2021 at North Road by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
