CHIEF-OF-STAFF (ag) of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Brigadier Godfrey Bess; Head of Defence Secretariat, Colonel Ronald Hercules and Director of National Intelligence and Security Agency, Colonel Omar Khan, on Tuesday, received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
The officers are leading the military’s effort regarding immunisation against COVID-19.
As frontline workers who form part of the national security infrastructure, GDF troops have also been active enforcers of the COVID-19 guidelines. So, every effort is being made to ensure their protection. The Guyana Defence Force’s COVID-19 vaccination programme commenced on April 8, 2021.
