GuySuCo apologises to senior citizens

THE Guyana Sugar Corporation Inc. (GuySuCo) wishes to acknowledge the letter of complaint published in Stabroek Newspapers dated May 18, 2021. The management of GuySuCo regrets and humbly apologises for the inconvenience caused to all our senior citizens who depend on the invaluable services offered by our medical corps at all GuySuCo’s medical care and treatment centres in Regions Three, Four, Five and Six.
The management of GuySuCo empathises with our senior citizens affected since we understand their plight and wishes to assure all of its workers, senior citizens and persons benefitting from the services offered at its medical care and treatment centres that measures are taken to rectify the delayed supply of medication. This issue of delayed medication supply was caused due to difficulties the corporation encountered beyond its immediate control.

Recently, the corporation has started a procurement process for the acquisition of medication and the process is expected to be completed by June 30, 2021 after which there will be disbursement of medication across all GuySuCo’s medical care and treatment centres.
Finally, the management of GuySuCo wishes to thank all of its workers and senior citizens for their dedication and support for the industry and urges persons who are eligible for the COVID 19 vaccination to please visit the nearest health centre to complete the exercise. Any senior citizen desirous of support to get the COVID-19 vaccine, please contact the nearest GuySuCo’s medical care and treatment centre for assistance.
