According to the region’s cash grant coordinator, Iqbaul Khan, only 88 envelopes remain. He said the region received $56,600,000 and out of that, only $2,200,000 remain.

Meanwhile, one of the recipients, Marilyn Williams from Kabakaburi, told the Sunday Chronicle that she was very excited to uplift her money. She said her husband had lost his job due to the pandemic and the money came at an opportune time for her.
Another resident from Friendship Lower Pomeroon River, Franklyn Gildharie, expressed thanks and noted that many families are facing financial difficulties.

At St Moncia, Upper Pomeroon, Carloyn Hendricks, related that she has six children and the money will be spent to improve her children’s education. She said her children are currently using the internet to do research for school and the data is proving to be expensive.
