Corriverton man arrested after raid uncovers marijuana

OFFICERS of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU), on Monday, arrested a man after seizing 25.9 kg of suspected marijuana.
According to information from CANU, officers uncovered the alleged illicit item during a raid of a building at ‘AA’ Kingston, Little India, number 79 Village Corriverton, Berbice. The building is said to be owned by 41-year-old Wesley Anthonio Barry.
During the search, which was conducted in the presence of the owner of the building, 53 packages, containing what is suspected to be marijuana, were found.
Barry was arrested and remains in custody pending charges in court. The investigation continues.
