A SECTION ‘C’ Nabaclis, East Coast Demerara (ECD) man, said to be of unsound mind, is dead after he reportedly set his house on fire Tuesday afternoon.
Dead is Phineas Headley, 27, called “Tall Man” of Lot 63 Section ‘C’ Nabaclis, ECD. He suffered severe burns about the body from the fire that occurred around 16:50 hours.
Reports indicate that the one-storey wooden building, which is approximately 20 × 30 in measurement and resting on wooden posts about 10 feet off the earth’s surface and facing west in an open yard, was not fitted with electricity. According to information received from relatives, they heard a loud explosion and screams and saw the victim lying in the yard on the ground.
He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was listed to undergo a surgery but later succumbed to his injuries.
