THE third edition Survival Phagwah Golf tournament tees off today with a number of top prizes up for grabs as Guyana’s premier golfers head to the Lusignan Golf Course (LGC). Co-owner of Survival Business Group, Parsuram Arjune, regarding the annual event said, “The Survival Group of Business is here to stay. This is the third year of the tournament but we will continue. We are very happy to partner with the LGC and we look forward to doing so in the years to come”.
He continued, “Golf is a community sport that unites communities and individuals so please come out and support. It is a Phagwah tournament but it is not only for Hindus so let’s come out and have fun”. LGC assistant secretary/treasurer Pandit Ravindranauth Persaud, further thanked Arjune for his support of golf in Guyana.
He reminded the public that the LGC is compliant with regulations of the National COVID-19 Task Force. Tee-off time is set for 11:00hrs and will be played under a ‘Stroke Play’ format across 18 holes. Prizes range from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place trophies and other prizes The Survival Business Group put up a sponsorship value worth $150,000 towards the tournament.
