The impact caused the pedestrian to be pitched into the drain on the eastern side of the road, while the cop then collided with the rear of motorcar, PNN 5675, which was parked with the driver still inside. The driver was identified as 28-year-old Ryan Chandra of Garnett and Delph Streets, Campbelville. The accident occurred around 03:05hrs. As a result of the collision, both vehicles sustained extensive damage while the pedestrian and both drivers received injuries about their bodies. The cop and the pedestrian were picked up in a conscious state, with help from public spirited citizens, and placed into an ambulance. At the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, the cop was treated for injuries to his forehead and he was discharged, while the pedestrian was admitted with a broken leg.
