… Leon Seaton Jr to also compete

ANDREW Fowler, along with coach Jamie Skeete, departed Guyana yesterday for the CONSANAT South American Swimming Championships, scheduled to commence on Monday, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Leon Seaton Jr will join Fowler as the two-man team at the event that will feature some of the top swimmers in South America.
Seaton will join Fowler and coach Skeete in Miami to continue their journey to Buenos Aires tomorrow.
Both swimmers will be competing in the 50m and 100m Freestyle as well as the 50m Butterfly events.
Female national swimmer Jamila Sanmoogan, who was originally named as part of the competing team, was unfortunately unable to make this event but continues her preparations for the Tokyo Olympics to be held in the Summer of this year.

Fowler, fresh off his FINA scholarship, will be looking to improve his qualifying times in preparation for the Summer Olympics whilst Seaton Jr, who is currently on a FINA scholarship, will be looking to upstage his fellow countryman.
Coach Skeete will also perform the duties as delegate representative for the Guyana contingent and will also be representing the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) at the CONSANAT congress.
Dwayne Scott, the current president of GASA will be joining the congress virtually.
Meanwhile, GASA expressed its sincere appreciation to the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr and the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) for their support, specifically in the lead-up to the Championship.
