THE S. Jagmohan Hardware & Construction Services (SJHCS) Golf Tournament closed its curtains on Saturday following a nail-biting three-way tie that saw Azurdeen Shaw claim top honours. A total of 33 golfers converged at the Lusignan Golf Course (LGC) and witnessed the top three finishers tied on 38 points. The count back system was then used to determine that Shaw prevailed against Shanella London and Mike Mangal, who finished second and third, respectively. Richard Haniff narrowly grabbed the fourth place spot after accumulating 37 points.

At the conclusion of the tournament, president of the Lusignan Golf Club, Patanjilee Persaud, said: “Let me thank everyone for coming out and playing this event, for taking part in this competitive sport. Let me thank the sponsors for supporting this event as they are efficient and timely in their work.
We would also like to urge them to support the future events at the club, and supporting the sport of golf, as we know in this time the game of golf is COVID friendly but it is also a sport that allows persons to be family oriented and safe.”

Persaud also thanked the company for its contribution to the development of Golf in Guyana. Also sharing her sentiments at end of the tournament was Project Manager of S. Jagmohan Hardware & Construction Services, Vidya Mangalram, who stated that the company was proud to be a part of the prestigious tournament. All COVID-19 precautionary measures were observed during the tournament.
