Anna Macc Media & Entertainment Network is a media and production company headed by Jamicia Mc Calman. Her production company hosted Sing + Sip + Paint & Poetry; an art-driven event on February 14. Jamicia recently resigned as a television producer to focus full time on her production company and this is one of many productions and events planned by AMMEN. It was an outdoor event that was held at the Bookland Gardens, Georgetown. Every person in attendance was sanitised, it was mandatory to wear a mask and social distancing was maintained.

As a committed Christian by faith, Jamicia noticed that there were little to no events that were tailored for Christian audiences. As such, she launched this event as a sober, yet fun occasion for all. “Paint and Sips have become increasingly popular over the years. What made this one different from others was the fact that it was a four-fold event. Persons enjoyed it all; from poetry to singing, painting and being creative and even sipping on their favourite drink,” said Mc Calman. The event was only planned in two weeks but according to those in attendance and patrons, it was well received and highly reviewed for its authenticity.

Performances were done by one of Guyana’s raving gospel artists; Yonnick Adolph accompanied by Christian Sobers. Together, they performed Yonnick’s latest hit single; “Your Love”. Tondicka Austin and Daniela Araujo both performed touching spoken word poetry, while Nicasey Gordon- Abrams warmed hearts with a SOEM (what she refers to as a combination of a song and poem). The mayor of Linden, Waneka Arrindell and her family was also in attendance. Sing + Paint + Sip & Poetry would not have been possible without the sponsorship and collaborations of businesses such as; Dahlia L’artista, Pressy’s Gift Shop, Flava Unit Kitchen Décor on a budget, Sach Soap, Massey Distribution and Banks DIH Ltd.

Jamicia and her team at Anna Macc Media & Entertainment Network also mentioned to The Buzz that they are currently working to make this production possible in other regions of Guyana in the coming months due to the excitement and well received reviews. The team even hopes to make this event a virtual one in the near future.
