TRAVEL is expected to rebound in the post-pandemic era and to prepare for that, a journey and destination management entity, known as the Global Tours and Travel Company (GlobalTT) has been formed to redefine business and leisure travel.

In a recent interview with the Guyana Chronicle, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Waynewright Orderson, explained that this company does not function as a mere travel agency, but it strives to ensure that customers enjoy a complete package of services throughout their travel.

“It is a lot more convenient for an all-inclusive package out of our system, because of the relationship we have with airlines, car rentals, hotels and tour companies,” Orderson said.

Travel to Cuba is one of the non-traditional vacation destinations GlobalTT would be trying to promote and Orderson said that if a customer books with this company, their needs would be met as they get to Havana. This includes food, ground travel, personalised guided tours, tickets to concerts and anything else the customer desires.

Similar arrangements, he said, exist in the United States, Canada, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Panama. Soon, other destinations will include more South American countries alongside China, India and the United Arab Emirates. The company also connects customers with carnival cruise lines.

An important aspect of the services offered by GlobalTT is that the company would keep in constant contact with all customers while they are vacationing, to ensure that any hiccups which may occur are dealt with speedily and efficiently.

But, it is not only about Guyanese vacationing abroad. Orderson noted that focus has been directed to marketing Guyana as a travel destination, as well. “We want to show what is new and unique and that is what this service will bring to Guyana. We know that we are entering a market where there are travel agencies but focusing on end-to-end travel,” the CEO highlighted.

Additionally, the Chief Operating Officer of GlobalTT, Tyler Orderson, said with efforts being made to promote Guyana as a major international hub between the Americas and the rest of the world, the company saw the opportunity for investment in Guyana of a journey and destination services company that offers a complete array of travel services that will meet the demands of international tourists and business people, multilateral organisations and even non-governmental organisations.

Recently, the CEO and Chief Business Development Officer, Leonardo Tápanes, presented Minister of Public Works, Bishop Juan Edghill, with the company’s plans and activities. According to Orderson, these plans are intended to assist with the revitalisation and bolstering of the travel and tourism sector of Guyana, as the industry rebounds from the COVID-19 pandemic and the demand for travel returns. The company has just launched its official website which can be found at www.globalttgy.com
