THE police are investigating an armed robbery committed against a 19-year-old on Friday afternoon while he was participating in a virtual classroom at his ‘A’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown home. Police Headquarters in a statement noted that the victim was sitting in the kitchen area at around 13:00hrs, participating in his on-line class, with the top half of a door left open. Two suspects, one of whom was armed with a gun, approached and held him at gunpoint. They reportedly searched the entire house, relieved the victim of a total of G$430,000 worth of jewellery, cellphones and cash and made good their escape in a western direction.
Several persons in the area were questioned and ranks are to review Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras. No arrest has been made so far as the investigation continues.
