Fletcher, Cottoy fifties set up 92-run win for Windward Islands Volcanoes

HALF-centuries from Keron Cottoy and Andre Fletcher saw Windward Islands Volcanoes cruising to a whopping 92-run win over the Jamaica Scorpions in the Regional Super 50 Cup last night at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua
Batting first, opener Andre Fletcher clobbered 60 off 51 with 4 fours and 3 sixes while the left-handed Cottoy smacked four sixes and found the ropes on 4 occasions as he finished off the innings with a 47-ball 67.
All-rounder Kevin Stoute (48), Sunil Ambris (28) and Roland Cato (23), added reasonable support to the two half-centurions as Volcanoes racked up an imposing 260-8 in 50 overs.

West Indies all-rounders, medium-pacer Rovman Powell returned 3-47 to lead the effort with the ball while Fabian Allen chipped in with 2-35, bowling for Jamaica.
The Scorpions then stuttered terribly in their pursuit of the 250-plus target, being kept to 168 all out in 37 overs, with Andre Mccarthy scoring 55 and Allen returning to hit 39, but in a losing effort.
Left-arm spinner Larry Edward was the pick of the Volcanoes bowlers, grabbing an impressive 3-35 with seamers Ryan John (2-33) and Fletcher (2-3) being the other primary wicket-takers alongside Preston Mcsween and Cottoy, who finished with a wicket apiece.
Final scores: Volcanoes: 260 for eight off 50 overs (Kerron Cottoy 64, Andre Fletcher 60, Kevin Stoute 45, Sunil Ambris 28; Rovman Powell 3-47, Fabian Allen 2-35)
Scorpions:168 off 36.4 overs (Andre McCarthy 55, Fabian Allen 39; Larry Edward 3-36, Andre Fletcher 2-3, Ryan John 2-33) Clifton Ross)
