Barry Sr elected as GCA president following AGM

THE Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) recently held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) with Neil Barry Sr being elected president for the 2021-2023 term.
Thursday’s AGM saw a number of top, former players and stakeholders being nominated to form the executive body which will carry through until 2023.
First and second vice-presidents of the GCA are Azad Ibrahim and West Indies chief selector Roger Harper, who also held the Association’s presidential post in the past.
Barry, a former National batsman and father of Guyana Jaguars/Windies physiotherapist Neil Barry Jr, has been operating with much success as an executive figure for local cricket following the end of his playing days. The ex-Guyana player and executive member of GCA, Barry has also been a long-serving executive of Malteenoes Cricket Club and was also eleced president back in 2013. Along with a seasoned executive body, the GCA and Barry Sr will be keen on setting the tone for the resumption of cricket across the city, as well as other related areas of their yearly programme.

2nd Vice-President: Roger Harper

Assistant Secretary: Captain Andre McFarlene
Treasurer: Brother Imran Ally
Assistant Treasurer: ASP Amrit Das
Marketing Manager: Attorney-at-Law Emily Dodson
Public Relations Officer: Divesh Ramjattan
Competitions Committee Chairman: Shaun Massiah
Auditor: Parmesar
