Teen sentenced to community service for ganja trafficking

EIGHTEEN-year-old Shamar Mankou, who was nabbed with 37 grams of cannabis in his shoulder bag was, on Friday, sentenced to 80 hours of community service.
Mankou of Wisroc Housing Scheme was arraigned at the Linden Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Wanda Fortune and pleaded guilty to the narcotics trafficking charge.
The teen admitted that on January 21 at Wisroc Housing Scheme, he had 37 grams of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
According to reports, on the day in question, Mankou was walking along the Wisroc Roadway with a brown shoulder bag when he was stopped and searched. The cannabis was found in the bag.
Magistrate Fortune sentenced Mankou to 80 hours of community service at the Wismar Police Station or an alternative six months imprisonment.
