THIS iconic charitable institution known as the Dharm Shala will be 100 years old in April 2021. Like a sinuous waterway, it has experienced many twists and turns, nevertheless, this sustained charity, which was founded on ‘divine inspiration’ so many decades ago, continue with the help of a few individuals, firms, friends and steadfastness of management to fulfil its aims and objectives free of charge. The management thanks sincerely those who have contributed by way of raw foodstuff during a very difficult period. Nevertheless, financial assistance is needed not only for attending to the welfare of the residents but the day to day management such as payment of stipends to staff, payment of bills, too numerous to mention.
