A 24-year-old technician of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara, was arrested Saturday after he was found driving a heavily tinted vehicle and was dressed in a green army jersey and camouflage long pants with cannabis in his pockets.
He was identified as Isaiah Hinds. Reports indicate that a police sergeant and three other ranks were on duty at the western end of the Demerara Harbour Bridge when they observed a black, tinted Toyota Belta motorcar, PMM 5501, approaching the bridge from a western direction and the driver acting in a suspicious manner.

As a result, the police signalled the car to pull over and the driver complied. The police then noticed that the driver began taking off the army clothing.
Police then carried out a search of the car in the driver’s presence and found two ziploc plastic bags containing cannabis in the pockets of the camouflage pants.
Hinds was told of thAe offences committed and under caution, he said the cannabis was for his personal use and that his cousin had given him the army clothing.
He was arrested and escorted to the La Grange Police Station where the cannabis and army clothing, along with the car, were lodged as investigations continue.
