National Printers Finance Manager sent on leave

THE Board of the Guyana National Printers Limited (GNPL) has sent Finance Manager, Shawn Victorine, on leave with immediate effect, for not cooperating with several of its requests for information on the company’s finance.

According to a release, the decision was made at an Emergency Board Meeting on Wednesday, where it was noted that Victorine’s non-cooperation had stalled the work of the board.
The release also noted that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dexter Phillips, had written the Auditor General, inviting him to audit the company.

“There are serious concerns over the finances of the company including the purchase of used printing equipment acquired for over $100M and is non-functional. Chairman and Board of Directors are hopeful that the audit could be undertaken in an expeditious manner while Mr. Victorine remains on leave,” the release concluded.
