THE body of a 24-year-old labourer, Danny Hendricks, was recovered from the Pomeroon River on Saturday.
According to information from the Guyana Police Force, Hendricks, who resided at St. Monica, Upper Pomeroon River, left his house around 10:00hrs, on October 20, 2020, to drink with friends at a shop next to his house.
He reportedly left the shop and went to his landing, where he met his 13-year-old sister who later observed as he dived overboard and ‘disappeared.’
The police said Hendricks’ family formed a search party and eventually found his body floating in the river. His body was examined, but no marks of violence were found.
The body was subsequently taken to the Charity Hospital where it was examined by a doctor and then placed in the mortuary. A post-mortem will soon be conducted to determine the cause of death.
