Three more die from COVID-19

– 31 new cases reported

THE novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has claimed three lives in one day, taking the death toll to 114.
The Ministry of Health identified the recent victims as all females: 74-year-old and two 64-year-olds from Region Four (Demerara-Mahaica).
This newspaper was reliably informed that one of the victims was 64-year-old Agnes Johnson of Riverview, Ruimveldt. Johnson was said to be a patient of the Georgetown Public Hospital’s COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The Ministry of Health has since expressed its condolences to the families of those victims and pledged to make every effort to provide all the necessary support during this difficult time.
Meanwhile, Guyana, on Monday, recorded 31 new cases, taking the overall number of known cases in the country to 3,765. There are 74 persons in institutional isolation, 819 in home isolation and 12 persons in the COVID-19 ICU.

Of the positive cases, 2,749 persons have recovered, while 55 are in institutional quarantine. A total of 17,135 persons have been tested thus far.
