THE Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), on Wednesday, launched a one-of-its-kind website to assist travelers during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
This website was created to provide a platform for visitors and travelers alike with valuable information that will guarantee a hassle-free and safe-travel experience when coming to Guyana.

According to Deodat Indar, Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, before the website and in the early stages of the pandemic, especially in Guyana, persons were flustered as to where to get travel information.

“With this platform, persons can get all the information they need. This is the first of its kind and Guyana is definitely setting an example for the world to take note of,” said the minister. Public Works Minister, Bishop Juan A. Edghill, commended the team at GCAA on a job well.

He further stated that knowledge is power, information gives people peace of mind and the website is a small step that satisfies a big need in Guyana and in the diaspora.
“The People’s Progress Party Administration, while we are governing, we are cognisant of the fact that we are serving, and in doing so, we will meet the needs of the people,” Minister Edghill said.

He also noted that the world at large had to change or adapt due to COVID-19; the aviation industry had to stand and face the challenges and new methods of operation had to be developed in order to deal with the changing dynamics of the world.

The website is filled with valuable information for persons desirous of travelling to Guyana in a pandemic environment.
Persons are asked to visit the website on guyanatravel.gy for all of their information and guidance on what is required to travel to Guyana in this period.
