– Dr Tulsi Dyal programme to include COVID-19 safety rules

AFTER months away from any form of action due to COVID-19, the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB), reopened gates for team sessions this past weekend with the return of its Dr. Tulsi Dyal Coaching Clinic.

The Port Mourant and Area H Grounds saw some sort of action thanks to the BCB managing to host two respective sessions under the watchful eye of Head Coach, Winston Smith, with some strict pandemic rules in effect.

Saturday’s brief session featured 10 players from the PMCC while the women had their session carried out on Sunday.

Smith went through the various principles of batting, while focusing the mental and physical aspects of getting themselves re-integrated with live action.

BCB President, Hilbert Foster and Public Relations Officer, Simon Naidu, who were present at the sessions, encouraged the players to take advantage of the opportunities accessible to them.

BCB Public Relations Officer (PRO) Simon Naidu stated that upon completion of the batting clinics, the BCB would host sessions for bowlers. Regarding Covid-19 guidelines, Naidu said the government’s mandate, which include social distancing, washing of hands, wearing of face masks as well as restricting the number of persons together, will be in heavy effect.

Meanwhile, upcoming sessions continue Wednesday for the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTYSC), followed by the Rose Hall Canje Ground on Saturday and at Edinburgh on Sunday.
