A senior police rank shares flyers and other items on COVID-19 to persons at the Anna Regina Car Park, Essequibo Coast

THE Guyana Police Force,in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholders, launched a sensitisation programme on COVID-19 at the Anna Regina Car Park, Essequibo Coast, on Friday.

Hundreds of persons converged in the market area and the car park to listen to the message and programme to tackle COVID-19.
Regional Commander, Superintendent Cristal Robinson and team educated persons on the three pillars of the COVID-19 programme, which are: to engage, educate and encourage.

She also advised persons that whenever possible, they should stay in the confines of their homes.
“Businessmen/women must encourage persons to wear masks, wash their hands before entering their business places. Persons were also advised to practice social distancing,” the commander said.

Regional Chairman, Vilma Da Silva and the Regional Executive Officer, Davenand Ramdatt, along with Dr. Sheneer Reid, who is Head of the COVID-19 team for Region Two, also shared their wisdom with citizens.

Stakeholders joined in the fight against COVID-19 and assisted the Police in sharing CDs, flyers and masks.
Police ranks also took the campaign to villages and Amerindian missions where they distributed flyers, CDs and masks.
The police COVID-19 boat will be used in the riverine area.
