AN ABUSIVE relationship ended in murder on Tuesday, when a mother of three was chopped to death by the father of her children, in Cooper Street, Albouystown, Georgetown.
Dead is Clarabel Johnson, 28, called “Bella”, a vendor of Lot 142 Cooper Street, Albouystown, Georgetown. She was attacked a short distance away from her home.
Johnson leaves to mourn her three children ages seven, nine and 11 years old.

The perpetrator was identified as 45-year-old Nicholas Shawn Williams, who owns a bicycle shop in the community. He was arrested Tuesday evening.
The 13-year relationship filled with physical abuse ended when “Bella” succumbed to a chop at the back of her right knee, resulting in her bleeding to death.
She was picked up by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where she succumbed to her injuries, while being treated.
One resident in the area said the couple shared a rocky and abusive relationship that resulted in a restraining order being granted, almost a decade ago, when she ended the relationship and moved into her mother’s house.

According to a relative, a Johnson started the relationship with the perpetrator since she was 15 years old. She later became pregnant and moved in with him but returned to her parents’ home after he became physically abusive.

Police said the victim and the suspect lived together at the aforementioned address and around 06:15 hours the couple had a misunderstanding and the perpetrator chopped the victim on her right foot behind her knee with a cutlass.

She subsequently died at 07:21 hrs at GPHC. Investigations are ongoing.
