A BUSINESSMAN was shot and injured during an attempted robbery at his Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown home on Sunday.
He was identified as Floyd Duesbury of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown. The businessman was reportedly shot to the neck after the armed men attempted to relieve him of his gold chain.
Reports indicate that he was cleaning the roadside, in front of his yard, when the men pounced on him. They grabbed the chain and shot him in the process.
The businessman managed to run inside his yard and grabbed his firearm and returned fire, causing the bandits to flee on foot.
Residents in the area said they heard rapid gunshots and saw the two suspects escaping on foot. The men left their motor cycle behind and the slippers of one of the robbers were also left behind. Police visited the scene as investigations continue.
