IRO decries West Berbice killings

THE Inter Religious Organisation of Guyana (IRO) has decried the wanton loss of the lives of Isaiah and Joel Henry and said these heinous acts should never form part of the Guyanese culture.

The IRO, in a statement, also condemned the murders of Haresh Singh and Prittipaul Hargobin, contending that they were all vicious and senseless.

“Fellow Guyanese, these killings and the behaviour that nurture and facilitate them must stop.  As a mostly spiritual nation we believe that, even in anger, we are all children of one God.”

“The IROG takes this opportunity to redouble its call for justice for the victims and for engaging in behaviour that would lend to social cohesion and the uplifting of the lives of all Guyanese.”

“We continue to lift our nation up in prayers,” the release concluded.
