MINISTER of Public Affairs, within the Office of the Prime Minister, Kwame McCoy, has appointed Finance Manager of the Guyana National Newspaper Limited (GNNL), Moshanie Ramotar, to act as general manager of the State company.

The services of GNNL acting General Manager, Ganesh Mahipaul, were terminated on Wednesday.
Minister McCoy has also appointed Michella Abraham-Ali as acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Communications Network (NCN).
Both appointments take immediate effect and will last until a substantive CEO and general manager are appointed to those two organisations.
The appointments of Ramotar and Abraham-Ali follow the termination of the contracts of NCN Executive Chairman, Enrico Woolford and Department of Public Information Director, Imran Khan. They received their letter of termination on Wednesday.
The Office of the Prime Minister has responsibility for communication.
