THE Ministry of Education, in a recent press release, thanked stakeholders who contributed to the successful writing of local and regional examinations. The release stated that “The Ministry of Education wishes to express sincere gratitude to all our stakeholders who contributed to the successful administration and writing of the National Grade Six Assessment, Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency examinations during the period June 15 to August 4, 2020. We thank our parents, guardians, teachers, education officials, ancillary staff and everyone who supported our learners at that critical juncture in their formal educational journey”.
We thank you for trusting and believing in the safety systems we provided and for encouraging and supporting our learners, the future leaders of Guyana, as they wrote the examinations. As we await the outcome of those examinations, we trust all will remain safe and take all necessary precautions against the spread of COVID-19.
The Ministry of Education articulated that it remains committed to safe-guarding the wellbeing of the school population, while looking forward to continued support from citizens, even though the safe return to school is anticipated. The Ministry also urges citizens to be patient as it works towards developing practical and suitable plans that would guarantee continued learning in protected environments and mental health support for all.
On June 8, and, subsequently, the Ministry of Education (MOE) outlined measures to facilitate the safety of learners as they wrote the several examinations, during the stressful period attributed to COVID-19.
