NEWLY appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hugh Todd, said he will be working earnestly to transform the country’s image so as to further encourage economic cooperation.
“Generally, we need to start rebuilding our international image. So, our international diplomacy will be a priority for us; added to that, we will have to work on our economic cooperation,” the Foreign Affairs Minister told the Department of Public Information (DPI) during a recent interview.
Minister Todd added that renewal of diplomatic ties with other nations is also important at this time. “We have to rebuild our ties, stimulating investment. We have a lot of plans in store,” he stated.

Adding that most of what will be taking place at the Foreign Affairs Ministry will be guided by the President himself, the minister said he planned to rely on the competent team there, at the Ministry, as there is already a structure in place.

On Thursday, he met with the staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while doing a walkthrough of the premises.
Previously, Minister Todd held the position of Assistant Dean in the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation at Guyana’s premier educational institute, the University of Guyana.
