THE Guyana Gold and Diamond Miners Association (GGDMA) extends congratulations to His Excellency Dr. Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Honourable Brigadier Rt Mark Phillips Prime Minister of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the PPP/Civic on winning the 2020 polls. The GGDMA is also pleased that the constitution of Guyana was upheld. We urge the Government to move swiftly to develop a prosperous and inclusive Guyana, one in which peace, development, and unity becomes the hallmark.
The miners’ association looks forward to a fruitful relationship with the government and one which will help to improve and expand the mining sector to benefit all Guyanese. We remain committed to supporting the democratically elected government of Guyana and renew our call for a dedicated Ministry of Mining to recognise the value of the extractive sector. The government must now urgently address the COVID-19 pandemic which is affecting all Guyanese, including the mining sector and to let us all work together to build a prosperous and inclusive nation.
