A West Coast Berbice man was, on Tuesday, charged with causing death by dangerous driving for the hit-and-run fatal accident committed on Sheldon Major, 16, of 76 Enmore North , East Coast Demerara, last week.

Steven Pierre,28, of 26 Seafield Village, WCB, and driver of motor car # PLL 7855, was charged with: Causing death by dangerous driving; failing to report an accident; failing to render assistance and failing to stop after an accident.

He appeared at the Cove & John Magistrate’s Court before Her Worship, Fabyo Azore. He pleaded not guilty to all of the charges and was placed on a total of $575,000 bail. The case has been postponed to 2020-07-14 for report and fixture.
