TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD Grafton Clarke of Kildonan, East Berbice Corentyne, was, on Thursday, charged with the rape of a 23-year-old woman and subsequently placed on $100,000 bail when he appeared at the Whim Magistrate’s Court.
The labourer was charged under Section 3(3) of the Sexual Offences Act Chapter 8:03, when he appeared before Magistrate Renita Singh.
According to the facts of the case, at approximately 20:00hrs on June 4, 2020, a 23-year-old woman was imbibing with a friend, who then asked her to accompany him to a foreshore on the Corentyne, where two other males were waiting.
