Over the Mother’s Day weekend, proprietor of Star Party Rentals Lennox Cush and his team distributed Covid-19 relief hampers to the nurses of the Georgetown Public Hospital, the West Demerara Hospital, the Fort Wellington Hospital and Mahaicony Hospital.
In a release the company said the distribution began on Saturday, May 9 at the West Demerara Hospital and concluded at the GPHC on May 10, 2020. When asked about the reason for this particular initiative, Mr Cush said: “This initiative was a special one for me, my family and my staff, so after the idea came up, it was not one that was debated, but one in which we all agreed that was needed to be done, and it needed to be done for many reasons.”
He went on to say, “With everything that is going on in this pandemic, our frontline workers are risking their lives on a daily basis to protect us from this virus and even before this virus they’ve always cared for our citizens and displayed professionalism dealing with patients, so it was imperative for me to assist them in whatever way I can, just as some other private and public agencies are doing”
Mr. Cush further stated, “This is also 24 years since my dear mom passed away and I’ve always been a mother’s boy and someone who is adamant when it comes to showing appreciation to mothers.” The hampers were organized by Mr Cush and his staff and in the absence of his daughters Salaire and Nazyia Cush, distributed by his nieces Malika and Makaila and Operations Manager of Star Party Rentals Colwin Vyphuis
During the distribution nurses and members of the administrative body of the hospitals expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Mr Cush and his team for such a thoughtful gesture and said that they look forward to strengthening relations with Star Party Rentals. This is one of the few efforts of the local company, birthed to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
