RANKS of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) are still on the hunt for Ryan Pemberton known as ‘Sancho, a businessman, who is wanted for using threatening language.
Pemberton allegedly threatened to kill CANU ranks after they intercepted a fibre glass vessel at the Parika backlands, East Bank Essequibo, in February, 2020.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Pemberton of Alberttown, Georgetown, is asked to make contact with the unit on 226-0431. CANU has issued a warrant for his arrest.
On February 22, 2020, CANU intercepted a US$1M go-fast boat with more than 60 pounds of suspected cocaine.

Latchman Sankar called ‘Jack,’ a 35-year-old mechanic, along with Muneshwar Dusraj called ‘Bonny’ – a 49-year-old boat captain – were arrested during the operation and are currently on remand.

According to reports, Sankar was the alleged mastermind behind the crime while Dusraj was the captain of the boat which was carrying the narcotic.

CANU, after over a two-week period, was able to arrest the duo whilst they were on board the go-fast boat at Parika backlands.

The narcotic, which was found in the bow of the boat along with a go-fast boat with two 250 horsepower engines, was seized.
Pemberton, who has ties to the narcotics, had threatened to kill the CANU ranks and also to shoot up CANU headquarters during the alleged interception.
