THE Mayor Councillors of the City of Georgetown have announced that the
Stabroek Market will be closed to the public today, Thursday, March 26, 2020, to facilitate the spraying and sanitisation of the market and its immediate environs by the City Public Health Department.
As a result, stall-holders and vendors will not be permitted to conduct business for that entire day, said the M&CC in a press release signed by M&CC Public Relations Officer, Debra Lewis.
“This exercise will be extended to the Bourda, Albouystown, Kitty and East Ruimveldt markets,” the press release said.
“The council seeks the full co-operation of all vendors, stall-holders and citizens in this regard. It is important that council employs the necessary precautionary measures to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of the citizenry,” the release said.
