‘Shatta’ found guilty of rape

NICK SKEETE called Jason Blair’ and ‘Shatta’ was, on Thursday, March 19, 2020, found guilty by a 12-member jury of raping a 20-year-old woman in 2016.

Skeete was convicted for the indictment which read that, between July 8 and July 9, 2016, he had sexual intercourse with the woman without her consent. The alleged incident took place in Lethem.
He was represented by attorney-at-law Ravindra Mohabir while the state was represented by Teriq Mohammed and Tiffani Lyken.

Skeete’s co-accused, John Lee Edmond, was found not guilty of the offence on Thursday by the 12-member jury.

Skeet was remanded to prison until April 6, 2020 when he would be sentenced while Edmonds walked out of court a free man.

On Monday, March 16, 2020, Harold Anderson was freed from the charge on a no-case-submission made by his attorney Ravindra Mohabir.
